How to Save a Public TikTok Video on Any Device
Use a TikTok share link with Saveivo, select an available quality and troubleshoot the most common mobile problems.
To save a public TikTok with Saveivo, copy the link from TikTok's Share menu, paste it into the downloader and select an available MP4 quality. The same process works on iPhone, Android, tablets and desktop browsers.
Use this method only for a video you own, a video the creator allows you to download, or media you otherwise have permission to save.
Copy the correct TikTok link
- Open the individual public TikTok video.
- Tap the Share arrow.
- Choose Copy link.
- Open Saveivo's TikTok downloader.
- Paste the copied link into the downloader.
TikTok may provide a shortened vm.tiktok.com link. That link can redirect to the normal public post and is accepted when the destination remains available. Do not copy the creator's profile address or a search-results page; Saveivo needs the individual video link.
On a computer, open the post and copy its browser address or use TikTok's Share option. Copying from the original post is more reliable than copying a preview from a message or another website.
Confirm that the post is public
A video can be visible to you inside the TikTok app because you are signed in or follow the creator. That does not always make it a public link.
Test the copied URL in a private browser window. Saveivo will not be able to prepare the post if it asks for account access, has been deleted, is limited to selected viewers or is blocked in the server's location.
Saveivo does not ask for your TikTok username or password and does not bypass privacy controls.
Select a practical video quality
Choose Best video quality when you want Saveivo to select the strongest compatible media it can prepare. For everyday mobile viewing, 720p often gives a useful balance between clarity and file size. Choose 480p when storage or mobile data matters more than detail.
The available result depends on the media TikTok provides for that public post. Saveivo does not add its own watermark, but it also cannot promise to remove any branding already present in the source file.
For an explanation of the options, read 480p vs 720p vs 1080p.
Save the file on your device
Select Download and keep the page open while Saveivo reads the post and prepares the available file. When the result is ready, your browser handles the final save.
- iPhone or iPad: check Files → Browse → Downloads
- Android: check Files or the browser's Downloads screen
- Windows or Mac: open the browser's download list and reveal the file in its folder
The file may not appear automatically in your Photos or Gallery app. Move or share it from Downloads only when you need it there.
Why a TikTok download may fail
The link opens a profile
Return to the individual video and use its Share menu. A profile link does not identify which media you want.
The short link is old
Short links can stop redirecting correctly. Copy a new link from the current post instead of reusing one from an old conversation.
The post is no longer public
The creator may have removed the video or changed its audience. Saveivo respects those access changes.
The preparation stays in progress
Keep the page open, avoid pressing Download repeatedly and check your connection. If the platform is temporarily limiting requests, wait a few minutes before trying a fresh link once.
The saved video has no sound
Confirm that the original post plays with sound and that your device is not muted. Then try Best or 720p. See Why Does My Downloaded Video Have No Sound? for more checks.
A public post is still protected by the creator's rights. Ask before reposting, editing or using someone else's TikTok commercially.
