How to Save a Public Video From X or Twitter
Copy an x.com or twitter.com post link, choose an available MP4 quality and save permitted media with Saveivo.
Saveivo accepts public video-post links from both x.com and the older twitter.com domain. Open the individual post, copy its Share link, paste it into Saveivo and select an available quality. Only save video you own or are authorized to download.
Copy the individual X post link
On iPhone or Android:
- Open the post containing the video.
- Tap the Share icon.
- Choose Copy link.
- Open Saveivo's X video downloader.
- Paste the copied address.
On a computer, open the post and copy the complete browser address. It should identify a single post, often with a path containing status and a number.
Do not copy the profile page, search page, timeline or the address of an embedded player. Saveivo needs the original public post URL.
Do old Twitter links still work?
Saveivo recognizes both twitter.com and x.com public post links. You do not have to rewrite an old Twitter URL manually.
If an old link fails, open it in your browser. When it redirects to the current post, copy the new address from the Share menu and try that version.
Confirm that the post is public
Protected accounts, deleted posts, login-only media, age gates and regional restrictions are access controls. Saveivo does not bypass them.
Use a private browser window to test the link without your X account. If the post cannot play there, a server-side downloader may not be able to read it either.
A post can also become unavailable after you copied it. The account owner may delete it, protect the account or change distribution settings.
Choose a quality and prepare the MP4
After pasting the link, select the most practical maximum:
- Choose Best video quality when preserving the best compatible source matters most
- Choose 720p for a good phone-friendly balance
- Choose 480p for a smaller transfer on limited data
- Choose 1080p only when the public source provides suitable detail
Press Download once and wait for Saveivo to read the public post. X may serve several video variants; Saveivo chooses a compatible MP4 up to your selected quality.
Where the download goes
Your browser controls the final download location. On mobile devices, look in the Files or Downloads application. On Windows or Mac, open the browser's downloads list and choose the folder control next to the finished item.
If the MP4 does not appear in Photos or Gallery, it may still be safely stored in Downloads. You can move your own file from there.
Troubleshoot an X or Twitter video
Saveivo says the link is invalid
Remove any surrounding message text and paste only the address beginning with https://. Make sure it belongs to x.com or twitter.com and points to one post.
The post contains several items
Saveivo prepares the media exposed for the submitted post. If the post contains multiple attachments, the source may not offer each item as a separate downloadable result.
The link opens but the media does not
The post may be public while its video is region-limited, age-limited or temporarily unavailable. Try the link while signed out to confirm its real public state.
Preparation fails at one resolution
Select Best or a lower maximum such as 720p. A 1080p option cannot be created when the original post does not provide that detail.
The platform is temporarily unavailable
Wait a few minutes, copy a fresh Share link and try once more. Avoid repeatedly submitting the same job.
Saving a public post does not transfer ownership. Keep attribution and obtain permission before republishing or editing another person's video.
