How to Save a Public Instagram Reel on iPhone, Android or Computer
Copy a public Instagram Reel link, choose an available quality and save authorized content with Saveivo.
You can use Saveivo to save a public Instagram Reel that you created or have permission to download. The process is similar on iPhone, Android and a computer: copy the Reel's public link, paste it into Saveivo and choose the available quality.
Confirm that the Reel is public
Open the creator's profile without relying on a logged-in session. If the profile is private or the Reel requires account access, Saveivo will not be able to prepare it.
Stories can expire, posts can be deleted and creators can change their privacy settings. A previously working link may therefore stop being public.
Copy the Reel link on iPhone or Android
- Open Instagram and select the Reel.
- Tap the Share icon.
- Choose Copy link. If it is not immediately visible, open the additional sharing options.
- Open Saveivo's Instagram downloader.
You do not need to send Saveivo your Instagram username or password.
Copy the Reel link on a computer
Open the individual Reel in your browser. Copy the complete address from the address bar, or use Instagram's Share menu and select Copy link.
Do not copy the URL of the creator's main profile or the Instagram home feed. Saveivo needs the link to the individual public Reel.
Download the available file
- Paste the copied URL into Saveivo.
- Leave platform detection on Auto-detect or choose Instagram.
- Select Best, 1080p, 720p or 480p according to the available source.
- Press Download.
- When preparation finishes, save the file to your device.
The browser may place the file in Downloads rather than directly in your photo gallery. On an iPhone, open the Files app and check its Downloads folder. On Android, use Files or your browser's Downloads screen.
Why an Instagram Reel may fail
- The profile or post is private
- The Reel was deleted or restricted
- The link points to a profile instead of the individual Reel
- The copied URL is incomplete
- Instagram recently changed how it serves the media
Copy a fresh link from the original Reel and try again. For more checks, read Why Is My Video Link Not Working?.
Saving a public link does not remove the creator's rights. Download and reuse only media you own, license, or have permission to use.
Use what you learned
Open the Instagram downloader
Paste a public link you own or have permission to save.
