How to Use Saveivo on iPhone or iPad
Copy a public video link, download it in Safari or Chrome and locate the finished MP4 or MP3 in the Files app.
Saveivo works in a current iPhone or iPad browser without installing a separate downloader application. Copy a public video link from its social app, paste it into Saveivo, choose the available format and save the result through the browser.
Try the authorized sample first
Download Saveivo's three-second test MP4 and locate it in your browser's downloads. The file contains a moving test chart with no audio. Playing all three seconds checks the local save-and-play workflow without depending on a social platform.
This does not verify YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram or X downloading. See the dated compatibility record for exactly what was checked. Physical device testing was not completed for this revision; the instructions below are documentation-based.
What you need
- An iPhone or iPad with an updated browser
- A stable Wi-Fi or mobile-data connection
- A public YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram or X video link
- Permission to download the media
- Enough free storage for the finished file
Saveivo does not need your social-media login. Private, paid, deleted, account-only and DRM-protected content is not supported.
Copy the public video link
Open the video in its original application and use Share → Copy link. The exact position of Copy link can vary, but it is normally inside the platform's Share menu or additional options.
Copy the link to the individual video, Reel, Short or post. A channel, profile, group, feed or playlist link does not identify a single file.
For platform-specific steps, read How to Copy a Video Link.
Paste the link into Saveivo
- Open Saveivo in Safari or Chrome.
- Tap the link field.
- Touch and hold, then choose Paste. You can also use Saveivo's Paste button if the browser grants clipboard access.
- Keep Auto-detect selected, or choose the matching platform.
- Select Best, 1080p, 720p, 480p or Audio only.
- Tap Download once.
If clipboard access is unavailable, tap the field and paste manually. Saveivo can work without permanent clipboard permission.
Choose a mobile-friendly quality
720p is a useful starting point for most phone viewing. Choose 480p to reduce transfer time and storage use. Best or 1080p may provide more detail when the original source supports it, but the resulting file can be larger and server preparation may take longer.
Choose Audio only when you have permission to save the sound and do not need the picture. Audio preparation creates an MP3 when the server feature is available.
Save the finished file
Keep the Saveivo tab open while the status moves from queued to preparing and then ready. When the final download begins, Safari may show a download indicator near the address bar.
The file normally goes to the Downloads folder configured for Safari:
- Open the Files app.
- Select Browse.
- Check iCloud Drive → Downloads.
- If it is not there, check On My iPhone → Downloads.
- Tap the file to play it or touch and hold for sharing and organization options.
Chrome on iPhone also exposes downloaded items through its own menu and the Files app. Your selected browser and iOS settings determine the exact folder.
Move an authorized video into Photos
An MP4 in Files is downloaded even if it does not appear in the Photos application. To place your own or licensed video in Photos, open it in Files, use the Share control and choose the available save-to-video option.
If that option does not appear, confirm that the file is a compatible video rather than an MP3, incomplete download or unsupported container.
Fix common iPhone problems
Paste does not work
Tap and hold inside the URL field and choose Paste manually. Check that you copied a web link rather than the caption text.
The download seems to disappear
Open Files and search the Downloads locations above. The browser may rename the file based on the video's title.
The page reloads during preparation
Keep Saveivo in the foreground and avoid switching browsers while a large file is being prepared. If the connection changes, submit a fresh link once.
Storage is full
Delete or move unneeded files, then choose 480p or 720p for a smaller result. The original quality still controls the minimum practical size.
iPhone download behavior can change with browser and iOS updates. The Files app and your browser's download history are the most reliable places to check first.
